Owner of Austin Pharmacy NY in Forest Hills, Nina Shamayeva, is asking her patients to bring in non-perishable food items to her office location in 67-01 Austin St. to help those suffering from hunger issues. Fourteen percent of households in the U.S. are experiencing hunger, according to a recent Department of Agriculture report.
In addition, an extra $10 will be donated to the local food bank with every prescription filled at Austin Pharmacy now through Dec. 25, and the pharmacy will also give away free mini first aid kits to anyone who fills their prescription.
