Who can be a coach?
The best person to sign up as "coach" is that person who will be responsible for administering the site's features. The person who signs up as "coach" controls who gets access to the team's pages.  Thus, the "coach" should be the person best able to post scores, directions, schedules, practices, and generally keep the site current.

What if my team is not listed?
No problem, just get someone who will be responsible to sign up as a coach and then they can set up a site for their team. Email them this link: http://parentsknow.com/sports/registercoach.cfm

What if I coach more than one team?
No problem.  A coach can have several teams.

Who can see my team's information?
Only those people (email addresses) that have been approved by the coach get access to the private functionality inside the team's pages.  Anyone will be able to see the pictures, read the coach's corner, and see the schedule.  However, you must be registered and approved by the coach in order to post pictures or email the rest of the team.

What is the Coach's Corner?
It is the part of the site you can use as your chalk board.  You can communicate anything you like to your team: directions, practice schedule, comments on the game, uniforms, fund raisers, etc. etc.

How do I grant access to my team?
The coach will receive an email each time a parent asks to register a child for that team.  The Coach Home Page has a space that displays pending requests.  The coach just needs to approve those requests and our system automatically alerts the parents of the approval.

How do I manage the team roster?
At the top of the coach's area the second navigation tab lists four things you may do with the roster.  You may:
add a player, view or edit the roster, email the team, or approve requests by parents to have their children associated with your team.

How do I set up a schedule?
Click on "edit" under the schedule link at the top of the admin nav bar.  Then enter each game, one at a time, on the "Manage Schedule" page.

How do I post game results?
The game needs to already exist in the schedule.  Click on the "edit" link next to the specific game and just add the final score of  the game on the form that appears next.

How do I send an email to the team?
On the home page of the Coach Home Page click on the link to send "email team"

How do gain access to my kid's team?
As an unregistered user you can view much of a team's information.  To do so, find the team from the home page (http://www.nymetroparents.com/sports) and click the team name to go to its respective home page.

However, because security is important to us, we want to insure that only approved parents can post information.  To begin the process, you need to register your child under your account by clicking on the "Add Your Children to Your Account" link.  We ask for only the most basic information so the coach can recognize the child as one on his/her team.  We do not ask for last name.

Then you will need to find the team you would like to associate with your child.  Click on the "join team" link from the list of available teams.  You can also use the search box to help you locate a specific team.

That will send the coach an email notifying him or her of your interest.  Once the coach approves your request you will have access to the private functionality of that team.

What if my child belongs to more than one team?
No problem.  A child can belong to several teams.

Who can see my child's information?
We only ask for an display the child's first name.  And only those people previously approved by the coach get access to the team's email and photo upload functionality.

What can I do inside the private area of the team?
Upload photos and send email to the team.

How do I upload a picture?
You must be registered to use this feature.  If registered, login and select the team you wish to upload pictures to.
Then click on the "Team Photos" link

Then click on the "upload team photos" link

Make sure that the format of the picture you are uploading is either a "jpg" or "gif" file. It is best to keep the ad size under 400k or the upload may take more than a few minutes to complete.  Find the file on your hard drive and select it, give it a name, and then click upload.

CRUISE SHOES: Three year-old Suri Cruise sports high heels on a regular basis. What's your take?

Little girls should wear flats- no exceptions!
It's unsafe.
High heels look cute no matter the age.
Why not? They'll learn to master heels by Kindergarten.
