 Want to get spooked? Head to Dinosaurs After Dark at Field Station, launching this weekend, and explore the darkened park with a flashlight and a rope to guide you, or choose among five haunted venues at a scream park in Long Island. Get into the fall spirit by making cider or going on a pumpkin scavenger hunt at the Harvest Celebration in Fairfield. Then catch the annual hawk migration at Audubon Greenwich, or stop by Adopt-a-Dog, an annual adoption festival.
NYC Firefighters, Aliens, & Basketball Stars:  Since the 1840s NYC's firefighters have put their lives on the line to help others. Discover the legendary tale of Mose Humphreys, "New York's Bravest," during story hour at the DiMenna Children's Museum. For more story time, put on your PJs for a party with Stellaluna, a young fruit bat who is knocked by predators from her mother. Then, discover alien creatures and memory-erasing neuralyzers of the popular film "Men in Black."
Put on your basketball shoes for a free family event with former Knick Allan Houston, and learn all about healthy eating with former NBA star Shaquille O'Neal. Elsewhere, a free Health and Wellness and Sports Expo brings dance demos, celebrity athletes, and community medical professionals to answer your questions.
Around the Globe: Make colorful paper lanterns to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival; learn about Native Americans at the Pow Wow; watch Irish step-dancers at the Hudson Valley Irish Festival; and catch the Brooklyn Children's Museum's latest exhibit of Global Shoes, a collection of various shoes from around the world.
Make Music, Watch Shows: 92YTribeca hosts musical guest Lunch Money for its "BYOK: Bring Your Own Kid" series; Elmo comes to town (win tickets!); and Mo Willems' Knuffle Bunny takes the stage. Plus catch a sensory-friendly screening of Disney's "Finding Nemo."
