Whether you're a Giants or Jets fan, you're sure to have at least one thing in common with each other: You don't want the Patriots to win. Before you dive in to nachos, burgers, hot dogs, and settle in for Sunday's big game, head to the free Westchester Camp and Summer Activity Fair (12pm-3pm) to meet one-on-one with camp directors (and us!).
On Saturday, head to the 37th Annual Dance Concert & Pow-Wow with Thunderbird American Indian Dancers. Then, help LEGO celebrate the launch of their newest product at the Launch N' Build event in Times Square (free) and take home a complimentary LEGO lemonade stand. Explore properties, structures, materials with hands-on activities at the Sony Wonder Tech Lab for free.
Nearby, catch cool children's films from 26 countries and puppet performances at the two-day BAMkids Film Festival—it's where wildly popular animated short, Marcel the Shell with Shoes On (more than 16 million views on YouTube), won Best Animated Short last year.
Next, get up to sing and dance at Bari Koral's Rock Band Concert, then do arts and crafts and join in on dance and movement workshops at Artopia.

More than 100 kids from the tri-state area perform in "Oliver," a kid-friendly version of Dickens's classic tale, while lions roar when the library puts on a free musical of a traditional Ethiopian folktale, "The Lion's Whiskers." (Feeling courageous? Go on a night owl prowl to spot these birds of prey in the woods.)
Libraries elsewhere celebrate reading on Take Your Kid to the Library Day. Attend the book launch of "Maggie Brooklyn: Vanishing Act" (free), a young Nancy Drew who, with her twin brother, solve mysteries in Park Slope. In a different type of hunt, solve "I Spy" riddles with your family.
Also try the best of best soups and vote for your favorite at Chowdafest or SOUPer Bowl. In continuing celebrations for the Year of the Dragon, the Met puts on a parade with Sesame Street puppets while the zoo hosts a children's parade.
Black History Month & Valentine's Day: Think your kids are too young to "tie the knot"? Head to the aquarium where kids will learn how to tie fishing and boating knots, and then discover how sea animals find love at the whaling museum. Then, see a love story unfold during the opening weekend of Princess & the Pea. Madame Tussauds kicks off Black History Month with the unveiling of a new wax figure.
As always, scroll down for more family-friendly events, including various free events right in your community's library, or visit our online calendar to search thousands of events by neighborhood, age group, cost, and category.
