Simply freeze your extra food scraps (including fruit and vegetable scraps like peels, skins, or seeds), coffee grounds (including the paper filter), tea bags, eggshells, nutshells, plain bread, and pasta (no toppings) to the weekly food waste drop off location at Queens Library at Steinway between 4pm-5:30pm. Leave your meat, dairy, bones, or oily foods at home. The Western Queens Compost Initiative will turn the rest of your food waste into a nutrient-rich compost.
