Qui etes-vous, Polly Maggoo? (Who are You Polly Maggoo?) (1966) - Museum of Arts & Design
Hours: 7pm Ages: All Address: 2 Columbus Circle - 212-299-7777 New York, NY 10019 madmuseum.org Description: Inspired by his work as one of Vogue's boldest photographers, Klein's first feature film is among his most famous and enduring works. A razor-edged satire of Parisian high fashion and haute couture, Klein's film follows the eponymous Polly, a Brooklyn-born supermodel working the runways of Paris, as she is hounded by a frenzied French television crew. Along the way, Klein holds a mirror to a particular side of '60s youth culture and provides a perceptive and highly-stylized critique of its excesses and pretensions. |
