CG: BROADWAY IN SOUTH AFRICA'S Travel Blog-Day 4, Last Day in Diepsloot
It's been a crazy past few days as the four of us have collectively been to four different cities in South Africa in less than 24 hours. Chris and Sean picked up the eight incredible young leaders from Capetown while Frankie and I flew to Durban to prepare for their arrival. We have finally settled in to the hotel where we'll all be staying for the night in Pietermaritzburg, about an hour and a half drive away from Durban, and about ten degrees colder. CG: Guitar Heroes: Legendary Craftsmen Exhibition Closes 7/4
Monday, July 4, is the closing day of the popular loan exhibition Guitar Heroes: Legendary Craftsmen from Italy to New York at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. This unprecedented exhibition of around 90 musical instruments focuses on the work of three modern-day master craftsmen-John D'Angelico, James D'Aquisto, and John Monteleone-whose instruments have been sought after by many of the most important guitarists of the last century. Many of the masterpieces on view are or have been owned by renowned artists including Chet Atkins, George Benson, Paul Simon, Steve Miller, Mark Knopfler, and Grant Green. (read the story...)
