Dirty Paki Lingerie, a solo show written and performed by Aizzah Fatima, bares the lives of six Pakistani-American females as they air their dirty lingerie while struggling to find their place at the chaotic juncture of two very different cultures. Dance Events Announced For TNC's Dream Up Festival
Theater for the New City's second Dream Up Festival, an annual festival of new works from across the country and abroad, will offer premieres of three choreographed productions: "M. - Solo for Three Minds (Dialogues with Marcel Proust)," devised and performed by Miloš Sofrenovic, text re-translated and spoken by Sheila Sofrenovic (August 19 to 26); "own, Owned," choreographed by Jesse Phillips-Fein (August 24 to 28) and "I Don't Have a Title Yet!" by Regina Nejman (August 14 to 21). CG: Impetus Ensemble Stages CONSENT Reading, 8/5
"CONSENT" examines the many types of bullying certain teens face, both obvious and subtle. The work focuses on a troubled sixteen-year old trying to come to terms with his sexuality in the face of ridicule and prejudice. The play explores the responsibilities we all have to communicate with our youth and teach our children to celebrate their differences instead of denigrating them. (read the story...)

Jewish Museum Presents Maira Kalman 7/22, 7/24
Illustrator, author and designer Maira Kalman will be appearing in person on Friday, July 22 and Sunday, July 24 from 12 noon to 5:30 pm at The Pop Up Store Called Milton in The Jewish Museum's current exhibition, Maira Kalman: Various Illuminations (of a Crazy World).
