BCAP director, Brian Ferreira received his B.A. in psychology from NYU. A Teach for America alum, he taught for seven years at the preschool, third-, and fifth-grade levels. �BCAP is the kind of camp I would have loved as a child. Our campers have fun learning about the arts, culture, and the sciences with hands-on activities. They make friends with children from diverse backgrounds with similar interests, and our staff members are great role models,� he says.

Bobbie Finkelstein has been the director of Congregation Beth Elohim�s, CBE KIDS CAMPS for more than 20 years. She has a master�s degree in social work, with a concentration in groups. �I feel that children learn so much from being in a group setting at camp. We empower them to be confident, caring group members,� Bobbie says. �The campers love the experience so much that they go on to become CITs, assistant counselors, and head counselors as they get older. There is nothing more rewarding for a camp director than to see campers return as staff.�

Emily Rios offers health conscious, hands-on cooking classes for children. Her background as a teacher and social worker have helped shape her belief that cooking is a powerful medium to develop social, cognitive, language and motor skills. A self-proclaimed ?foodie,? Ms. Rios has a strong background in Asian and Latin American cuisine. This summer, Creative Cooks Camp offers 10 weeks of cooking and food explorations for ages 5-11. Days will be spent in and out of the kitchen; cooking and visiting international markets and local farms. Come cook with us!

For over 20 years, Christine Altman has been working and entertaining children of all ages in Park Slope. She believes in summer; with lots of sunshine and outdoor fun, it offers children a different experience than that of the school year. There is so much to do and so many green places to explore right here in our surrounding area. Many staff members are former campers who have come back to share the fun they experienced as a child.

Ronny has made children�s development his life�s work, and he founded PSDC in 1992. He holds an M.A. in education, and has more than 35 years of experience in camps and after-school programs. When asked what his favorite part of the summer is, Ronny smiles and says, �Being outdoors with our campers and staff.� He is always busy coming up with his next great idea, but when he manages to get free time, he enjoys his family, skiing, racquetball, dancing, and traveling.
