Native New Yorker Julie Flansbaum received her Masters of Science in Early Childhood Education from Hunter College. Julie has been the Director of Summer Days Camp for the past five summers and in May 2007, she also became the Director of 74th St. MAGIC. Patrizia Saglio, director of Collina Italiana, was born in Switzerland and grew up speaking Italian, French and German. She graduated in political science from the prestigious Universita Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, where she worked for several years as an assistant professor and private teacher. Patrizia moved to NY in 1998, and after a stint as co-owner and manager of an international trade company, she decided to open an Italian Cultural Center, offering classes in an authentic cultural setting and combining them with culinary arts, wine and film. Emily Levy is the founder of EBL Coaching, a supplemental education company that offers individualized one-on-one tutoring and after-school and summer programs. She is also the author of Strategies for Study Success, a study skills workbooks series emphasizing test taking, note taking, reading comprehension, writing, and summarizing strategies. This workbook series is currently used at schools nationwide. Robin wrote the award-winning business plan for The Fit Pit, Inc. as a university student. When a venture capitalist informed Robin that hers was the most creative business plan he had ever read, she took his advice and launched her company in May 2006. As a backdrop for program development, Robin uses the fitness trainer certification course she had initially taken to supplement her income while in law school; her experience teaching fifth-grade boys; and coaching varsity basketball. Jerry Huncosky became a YMCA camper as a boy in Green Bay, WI. Trained as an environmental educator at the University of Wisconsin, he serves as Frost Valley's 6th director of its camps Wawayanda and Hird, hosted in the Catskill Mountains for over 50 years. Thousands of schoolchildren visit Frost Valley during the school year to study science, leadership and conflict resolution skills through outdoor education, adventure and teambuilding activities. Jordan Snider is returning for his 17th year as Director of Future Stars Camps at Purchase College. He has a B.A. in psychology from Rollins College, where he also won the NCAA Tennis Championship, and an MBA from the Stern School of Business, NYU. Established in 1975, the Jeff Nerenberg Tennis Academy teaches children ages 7-18 the fundamentals of tennis under the guidance of caring, professional instructors. The uniquely designed co-ed program includes special "Family Tennis Clinics," stroke development, drills and match play for beginners up to tournament players. Program Director Jeff Nerenberg, named "Coach of the Year" by the Professional Tennis Registry, is regarded as the most accomplished instructor in the tri-state area. Jodi has been involved with gymnastics since 1970, when she took her first gymnastics class. She went on to compete at the national level and was an athletic scholarship recipient to ISU's nationally ranked team. She developed an everlasting passion and love for the sport. In 1982, she created Jodi's Gym, where her innovative classes were the first of their kind. She holds a masters degree in psychology from NYU and undergraduate degrees in psychology and physical education. (more...)

What led me to this role is my experience with students ages 2-10 in the capacity of a Preschool Head, a teacher, and working at a summer camp for 8+ years. Don Braden, Music Director since 1998, is a saxophonist/composer/educator who has worked with many jazz greats including Betty Carter and Wynton Marsalis. He composes for Bill Cosby projects and received a Doris Duke Foundation award. He also teaches for NJPAC and Prince Clause Conservatory. He and a staff of major musicians are thrilled to teach students ages 13 and up. Urban Stages is proud to announce the return of Luke DeLalio to direct our 2009 Summer Theater Camp for ages 10-14. A multi-talented stage director/writer/artist, Luke oversees a team of accomplished teaching artists in dance, scenic design, playwriting, and singing, as they facilitate the development and production of a musical authored and performed by the campers. Children ages 6-13 can escape to 53 beautiful wooded acres in Chappaqua, NY and participate in an exciting program.
