I like this place really much.
This is such a outstanding website.
This is not like other money oriented web, the content here is truly important.

Our son lost his first tooth by falling over his scooter onto cement and cracking it so we had trauma-induced tooth fairy rates and it was still nowhere near $100. By the time his grandparents chipped in and he got "out of town tooth fairy" money, he probably had about $25 all told but we didn't give him $25 for the next teeth. Kids get too much now I think.

A young child should think of a coin as fun and not profit. Alongside whatever small amount is given, consider giving a short poem or a drawing or something else beautiful. Money is fairly low on the list of things that have meaning for a young child

My parents always gave me a Susan B Anthony coin, when I lost a tooth. It was more special than a dollar, and made me feel unique amongst peers.
You could find a number of creative solutions with a touch of effort.

$100 is really way too much for a child of age 5 or 6 to even understand. Kids that age are happy with $1. I always give $1-2. I've heard of $5 which I thought was a bit much.....but anything over that is indeed a disservice.

we give $1 for the first tooth, $2 for the second tooth, $3 for the third and so on...i can't imagine giving a child $20 for a tooth and for $100, the child should be paying for the braces that will be coming later!

Wow! I only remember getting $20 as a child. I'm not sure what the going rate is nowadays...but I would like to know as my son is not there yet!

Just curious, is 100$ too much to give my little girl for her lost tooth. i mean, she actually lost it, so i don't think i'll have to worry about it. the tooth fairy doesn't pay unless there's a tooth for her to take - an exchange, if you will.
what are your thoughts, ladies?
