Hi,
My son is taking the Tachs test on Nov 13. I would like to hire a tutor who specializes in tachs test prep to come to my home at least 3-4 times a week until the test. I live in Eastchester, NY.
Thank you,
Elisa Forgione

Hi, Lisa. Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I don't check this website very often. My son ended up getting into Xavier, which was our first choice! The original tutor he had at Next Level wasn't a great fit so they moved him to another tutor (Pete) that worked out really well and we were happy. He also got help with an algebra course.

Our youngest daughter is applying to Marymount on Fifth Ave. so she's been working with Next Level on the ISEE exam, which is the one for private schools (or maybe it's just for certain Catholic schools). She's working with Val (the director) who is beyond amazing! My son worked with Val a couple times on math over the summer and it worked our well. I know the other tutors there are fine but if you can get Val I highly recommend her. She has a way with kids that really works. Our son is a very motivated, self-starting kind of boy who doesn't need much pushing but our daughter definitely needs (gentle) prodding and Val really got her motivated. I can't say enough about her.

Next Level worked well for us but I talk to parents who've had good experiences with other tutors in NYC so check around. We interviewed with several tutors before going making a final decision so I recommend checking around first. What's right for us may not be right for you. It comes down to a personal fit. Good luck!

I just happened to come upon this after the test but my son took a TACHS prep course at Next Level Learning in Manhattan that was really helpful. He hasn't gotten his score yet but he was very confident going into the test and felt like he nailed it. Their website is www.nyclearn.com.

Hi, does anyone know where my son can take the TACHS prep course during the summer, preferably in Manhattan or Westchester County. I searched the internet and cannot locate one. Thanks for your help! Nancy

CRUISE SHOES: Three year-old Suri Cruise sports high heels on a regular basis. What's your take?

Little girls should wear flats- no exceptions!
It's unsafe.
High heels look cute no matter the age.
Why not? They'll learn to master heels by Kindergarten.
