Metro Children’s Services is a full service home based Early Intervention program servicing children and families in the boroughs of Queens, Brooklyn and the Bronx. We have been working with children and families for 13 years. Our agency is owned and operated by clinicians who have a wealth of knowledge in Early Intervention. We have initial and Ongoing Service Coordinators who speak a variety of languages and can assist families through the EI process. Service coordination, initial an ongoing is available in English, Spanish, Russian and Korean.We have evaluation teams and translators in the following languages, Spanish, Bengali, Hindi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Urdu, Mandarin, Korean, Greek and of course English. We provide Special Instruction, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Social Work, Family Training, Nutrition, Applied Behavior Analysis, and Play Therapy both in the home and in the community. We take pride in helping families grow together.

The metrochildren educational division seeks to educate providers, support parents and be a leader in the special needs community. By providing continuing education classes for therapists, parents and family members, we hope to empower them with the knowledge they need to be successful.

Timed Agenda for All Three Days

8:30-9am         Registration /Attendance, Breakfast, and Pre-test (1st day only)

9:00-10:50am Day 1: Pioneers of ABA, Definition of Applied Behavior Analysis, and        reinforcement

                        Day 2: Behavior Management – Identifying the form and function of behaviors,

                        Day 3: An Introduction to the Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills (ABLLS)

10:50-11am     Break

11-12pm          Day 1: Discrete Trial Training and identifying the different types of prompts

                        Day 2: Behavior Management – The steps to completing a Functional Behavior Assessment

                        Day 3: Continuation of the ABLLS (scoring and interpreting the results)

12-1pm            Lunch

1-2:50pm         Day 1: Techniques used in ABA

Day 2: Behavior Management – proactive and reactive strategies and introduction to verbal behavior

                        Day 3: Introduction to Data Collection

2:50-3pm         Break

3-4:15pm         Day 1: Natural environment teaching, generalization and maintenance of acquired skills

Day 2: Verbal Behavior – Identify verbal operants, Behavior Language Assessment, and Verbal Behavior Inventory

Day 3: Data Collection - Graphing, interpreting and analyzing data; and identifying the different types of data collection

4:15-4:30pm   Post Test

 ** Sign in/Sign out is required for each of the 3 days to receive credit for attendance**
