The NYMetroParents blogroll features the best blogs in the parenting world, from New York and beyond. Here's a closer look at why we love these mom bloggers and dad bloggers and how they're shaping the web for parenting today.

Blogging From: Westchester, NY

Culture Mom discovers creative ways to incorporate cultural activities into family life, ensuring her kids appreciate and understand differences in lifestyles across the globe. The blog's tagline: “For moms who aren’t ready to give up sushi for hotdogs” is spot on. There are several different avenues to pursue if the classy moms of New York would like to educate themselves on matters of public interest. There’s commentary on theatre, art, books, travel, and even a section for advocacy. Most of the blog posts are reviews on new movies or topical books. Often, you get movie reviews with a few quotes from Culture Mom's daughter sprinkled in. Holly, the wit of Culture Mom, is focused on maintaining her interests and pursuing them while simultaneously passing on her passions to her kids.

Originally from New York City, Holly moved upstate to raise her family and has taken advantage of its proximity to all the cultural institutions offered throughout the Big Apple.  Mostly revolving around Manhattan for her entertainment needs, Holly spreads herself across the island and peeks into every nook and cranny. She also goes beyond NYC to enjoy nature with her kids and has been through caves in England. She’s enthusiastic about having it all, or like one of her recent reviews for a historical book about women from the '50s on Madison Avenue, she's eager to enjoy: "The Best Of Everything."  — Leeann Moreau
