The Minor League Baseball season in the New York metro area runs through September and many of these venues have special offers for families, making one of these games a perfect family outing when the kids are off from school. Check out the minor league baseball teams that play in New York and NYC, Long Island, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania.

New York

Brooklyn Cyclones
Short Season A (New York Mets)
MCU Park, 1904 Surf Ave., Coney Island, Brooklyn

Season begins June 17; first home game is June 18 
Tickets: $9-$17

Through the Field of Dreams program, youth baseball, softball, and Little League teams can stand side by side, in uniform, with the Cyclones while the national anthem plays at the start of the game (you must purchase a minimum of 20 tickets to participate in this program).

Staten Island Yankees
Short Season A (New York Yankees)
Richmond County Bank Ballpark, 75 Richmond Terrace, Staten Island

Season begins June 18

The stadium offers Friends and Family Nights for groups that include discount ticket prices, fan gear, and a chance for kids (12 and under) to run the bases after the game.  

Rockland Boulders
CanAm League
Provident Bank Park, 1 Provident Bank Park Drive, Pomona

Season begins May 16
Tickets: $8-$17.

Kids can get on the field every Sunday for Kids Day and run the bases after the game. Kids are also allowed to play catch on the field after the games. 

Hudson Valley Renegades
Short Season A (Tampa Bay Rays)
Dutchess Stadium, 1500 Route 9D, Wappingers Falls


Season begins June 17

The Renegades offer special discounts and packages for groups of 15 or more; for an extra $25, groups can have their picture taken on the field in front of the scoreboard. Little League Night is June 24, and there will be an All-Scout Sleepover on June 29.


Tri-City ValleyCats

Youth league players can join the ValleyCats players on the field for the national anthem through the Baseball Buddies program.

Binghamton Mets
Double A (New York Mets)

Season begins April 11
Tickets: $9-$11; $7-$9 seniors and children younger than 14.

Groups of 10 or more qualify for ticket discounts and other limited benefits, including an on-field performance. 

 

 

New Jersey

New Jersey Jackals
Yogi Berra Stadium, 1 Hall Drive, Little Falls

Season begins May 16; first home game is May 28
Tickets: $9-$11

The Baseball Buddies program allows youngsters to be introduced like the pro players and take the field with the Jackals for the national anthem. See website for details.

Trenton Thunder
Double A (New York Yankees)

Season begins April 11
Tickets: $9-$13

The team offers the Boomer’s Kids Club for fans younger than 12, which features special discounts, prize packs, and on-field opportunities.

Lakewood BlueClaws
Single A (Philadelphia Phillies)

Season begins April 4
Tickets: $7-$12

With the Future BlueClaws package, your child’s Little League team can take the field with the BlueClaws during the starting lineups and the national anthem or play catch on the field before the game.

 

Connecticut

New Britain Rock Cats

Tickets: $6-$20

Kids 12 and younger can become members of the Rookie’s Club (free membership) and receive reduced-price tickets to six select Sunday home games. They’ll also get a chance to run the bases after the game and receive invitations to special events like Meet the Players Day. 

Connecticut Tigers
Short Season A (Detroit Tigers)

Tickets: $8-$20; groups of 20 or more receive a discount rate

Camp Day is July 15 and there will be a Boy Scout Sleepover on July 13.

 

Pennsylvania

Lehigh Valley IronPigs
Triple-A (Philadelphia Phillies)

Season begins April 2
Tickets: $7-$20.

Youth baseball or softball teams can take the field with the IronPigs players with the National Penn Bank Field of Dreams package and stand alongside the future Phillies during the singing of the national anthem before the game.

Scranton/Wilkes Barre RailRiders
Triple-A (New York Yankees)

Season begins April 4
Tickets: $7-$12

Sundays are Family Fun Day, when kids can run the bases after the game and get autographs from the players. Note: There is a $28 charge for families to sit in the lawn area; otherwise, regular ticket prices apply.

Reading Phillies

Tickets: $6-$12

Several group ticket packages are available, including those with access to the pool pavilion and third base picnic area. 

Harrisburg Senators
Double-A (Washington Nationals)

Season begins April 4
Tickets: $8-$32

Offers a Kids Club membership that gives children younger than 12 access to special events held at Sunday home games, including autograph sessions, scavenger hunts, and the end-of-the-season party.

Kids ages 14 and younger can join the Kids Club for discounts, special events, and the opportunity to win an autographed baseball at every Ducks home game.

Somerset Patriots

Tickets: $7-$13.50

Children can join the Kids Club ($25-$50) for special opportunities such as posing with the entire Somerset Patriots team in the Somerset Sluggers team poster, exclusive Q&As with Patriots Players, and ballpark tours. 

Bridgeport Bluefish

Season begins April 26
Tickets: $10-$13.50

Kids 12 and younger can join the Kids Club for special events and activities throughout the season and the off-season. Young athletes can join a Youth League Outing to accompany the players on the field during the national anthem, join the players on the field during team introductions, play catch with the players before the game, and more; see the website for details.

Camden Riversharks

First home game is April 23
Tickets: $12-$14

Children can join the Kids Club for access to special events like a pregame Q&A with some ‘Sharks players, a pregame behind-the-scenes tour of Campbell Field, and free entry into the kids fun zone and carousel. 

Lancaster Barnstormers

First home game is April 18
Tickets: $6-$13

Several ticket packages available for groups and families. Kids can join the Barnyard Bunch ($15) for free admission to 12 games, exclusive field access on select nights, and a chance to join the Barnstormers on the field for the national anthem. 

York Revolution

Kids can join the Rookie Revs ($25) for special events like a pregame autograph session.
