AMC Theatres collaborates with the Autism Society to provide sensory-friendly screenings of kid's movies in a safe environment each month. Theater lights are turned up and audience members are encouraged to get up, dance, walk around, shout, and sing.
This month, AMC Theatres throughout the New York metro area are showing Dr. Seuss's The Lorax, which opened Friday, March 2. Here are the sensory-friendly screenings happening at 10am this Saturday, March 10 in AMC Theatres throughout the New York metro area:

Sensory Friendly Films provides a unique opportunity for families to enjoy films in a safe and accepting environment. Kids and parents in the audience are encouraged to get up, dance, sing, shout, and walk around during the screening. The program began with a request from a parent with a child with autism at AMC Columbia Mall 14 in Columbia, Maryland. More than 300 kids and their parents attended this first screening.
