The ordinary sleeping bag doesn't keep the cold floor from finding your kid's spine during a sleepover party. Now your kids can sleep on air — while snuggling up with their favorite characters — with the Readybed. Developed by the U. K.-based Worlds Apart, this is a comfortable, indoor slumber bag for kids ages 3-8 that comes with a built-in, easy-to-inflate air mattress. Its removable slumber bag is machine washable with a 100 percent polyester fleece top, a 65 percent polyester/35 percent cotton lining, and 100 percent polyester fill. Inflated, the Readybed is 61 inches long, 26 inches wide, and 8 inches deep. It folds up neatly to fit into its carrying bag, making it easy to bring to a friend's house, to grandma's house, or anywhere else, effectively ending the idea of having to lug out blankets, quilts and pillows. Kids can choose from their favorite characters, including Bob the Builder, Barbie, Clifford the Big Red Dog, or Winnie-the-Pooh. The Readybed is available nationwide for under $40 at Zany Brainy and Kids R' Us stores, through the JCPenney catalogue, and www.toysrus.com.
