A new website by EduProfile includes profiles on thousands of private and public schools in New York City, plus a school comparison tool and tips for parents on school admissions, entrance exams, school tours, and more advice that makes choosing a school easier.

Peter Teitelbaum knows that choosing the right school for your child, whether it's preschool or high school, is no easy feat-especially in New York. About two years ago, he set out to make the process easier by founding EduProfile.

EduProfileThe service requires parents to complete a 10-page survey to determine their child's educational profile (factors include the family's educational beliefs and practical concerns like location and cost). Teitelbaum reviews the survey and provides parents with 10 school recommendations based on their child's needs.

EduProfile's new website offers a School Finder, with more than 2,500 profiles for private and public schools throughout the five boroughs, plus a comparison tool that allows you to compare up to five schools based on criteria like teacher qualifications, graduation rates, location, and tuition. The site also includes a Parent Guide, comprised of about 50 handouts that detail how to find a school that best fits your needs, including tips on entrance exams, school tours, and interviews.

On top of all that, Teitelbaum offers individual consulting and will introduce three workshops this fall: one for the preschool admissions process, the second for private K-12 schools, and the third for selective public schools. For more information on these services, call 646-327-1420, e-mail pteitelbaum@eduprofile.com, or visit www.eduprofile.com.
