The NYMetroParents blogroll features the best blogs in the parenting world, from New York and beyond. Here's a closer look at why we love these mom bloggers and dad bloggers and how they're shaping the web for parenting today.

Blogging From: Queens, New York

Suzanne Chan, a mommy blogger at Mom Confessionals, believes that our lives are defined by our children and if you think about it, it makes sense; we project everything we learn onto our kids and then hope to see a better outcome, a Chan version 2.0. Her children “A,” and “M,” however, do more than just define Chan; they help inspire her to reach out to other mothers who are in search of help and advice. Whether you need answers about what gift to give a teacher or advice on how to cope with the loss of a child, Chan can deliver information to you based on her personal experience and on real facts she gathers through research. She always insures her readers that they have her full support, and her heartwarming and trustworthy nature makes it easy to reach out to her. How could you not trust a supermom who leaves an executive marketing/PR position to help us mere mortals with our parenting questions and concerns!

On her blog, Chan shares her stories, her opinions, and several brands she supports.  She documents the engaging experiences she has with her kids with kits such as the MiracleGro Kids Ready Set Gro Root Viewer and the experiences her family has on vacation such as her children’s meeting with Sesame Street Characters (who transformed her shy kids into outgoing ones) in Jamaica. She admits to the guilty pleasure she feels when it comes to class trips with her daughter and boxes, and makes it clear that she “didn’t have children for someone else to take care of them and raise them.” Supermom, super-nurse, and soon-to-be super-pediatrician—Suzanne Chan is definitely a woman you want to check out if you’re looking for a highly motivated individual who understands the fear, anxiety, and pleasure every parent goes through. -- Holly Tucker
