Description: More than 2,500 are expected to participate in the annual Walk to Cure Diabetes at Empire City Casino at Yonkers Raceway on Sun., Oct. 16, from 9 a.m. - noon, supporting the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. GM Bob Galterio will captain the "Cure for Cara" team, named for his daughter. The day will include games, a scavenger hunt and food. The fundraising goal for the JDRF Westchester chapter is to realize more than $690,000 for research to find a cure for diabetes and its complications.
