Venue Description: There?s never a dull moment at the South Street Seaport. With shopping, eating, and constant entertainment, the entire family can enjoy the visit. As part of a new proposed redevelopment, the Seaport and Pier 17 will soon reconnect to lower Manhattan, both physically and aesthetically. With the new plan comes more open space for walking and waterfront recreation, open views of the harbor, and new areas for live performances, lectures, and children?s programs. Visit now to discover what's new at the shops at the South Street Seaport. Pop into stores for all occasions, from everyday clothing to designer goods. Sales and deals are beaming. After a day of shopping, visitors can choose from a variety of eateries. Located right on the pier, grab a meal at the Seaport Café, or indulge in Haagen Dazs ice cream. An assortment of entertainment is another appeal at the Seaport. Catch a poetry reading at the Shooting Star Theatre, or visit the South Street Seaport Museum. The museum houses an extensive collection of maritime paintings by some of the most renowned maritime artists, a range of ocean liner memorabilia, as well as over 1,000 ship models. The museum is both an educational and entertaining way to learn about the history behind the South Street Seaport. Visitors can also experience New York from a different point of view by taking the New York Water Taxi to many of the city's top destinations. Too much to do in too little time? There are many hotels located near South Street Seaport, allowing for an elongated trip. South Street Seaport is located at Fulton and South Streets, at Pier 17 in lower Manhattan. The mall hours are Monday- Saturday 10am-9pm and Sunday 11am-8pm.
