Description: The New York Botanical Garden and the American Society of Botanical Artists (ASBA) are co-hosts of this inaugural juried botanical art show, the first medal-awarding international exhibition in the United States. The show features 43 works depicting botanical specimens used as medicine, food, clothing, or shelter. The pieces were selected from an ASBA-record 258 entries from among artists representing 14 states and 8 countries. Esteemed international contemporary botanical art collector Dr. Shirley Sherwood chairs the award jury panel. An illustrated catalog is available. In the Arthur and Janet Ross Gallery through August 21.
