Description: Join us on Wednesday, August 24 to celebrate Rachelle Ferrell's rich, diverse sound with a backdrop of the Manhattan skyline. Rachelle Ferrell started singing at the age of six, which may have contributed to the development of her amazing six plus octave range. Her remarkable range also includes the ability to sing her highest notes in the "whistle register." She also received classical training in violin at a young age and by her teen years she was able to play piano at a professional level. Rachelle began performing professionally while still a teenager, accompanying herself on piano, singing both popular and jazz songs, and writing much of her material herself. Enrolled in Boston's Berklee College of Music, she further developed her skills in singing, arrangement and songwriting. As a vocalist, Rachelle has proven to be a quintuple threat. Besides her success as a jazz singer, she is also well respected in pop, R&B, gospel, and classical music. As an accomplished pianist, she has worked with Lou Rawls, Patti LaBelle, Vanessa Williams, and George Duke.
