Venue Description: Beginning as a collaborative project of the city of Brooklyn, the state of New York, the City University of New York, and Brooklyn College, the Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts comprises now of four performance spaces: the 476-seat George Gershwin Theatre, the 150-seat Sam Levenson Recital Hall, the experimental New Workshop Theatre, and the art-deco style, 2,350-seat centerpiece Walt Whitman Theatre.
The center provides family entertainment of diverse topics that are both suitable for children and enjoyable for adults through the FamilyFun series. To expose the arts to local children, the center created SchoolTime, a program that brings thousands of children from all around Brooklyn to the center to experience live performances.

All four of the center's venues are available to rent.
