Description: Join a guided garden walk or wander onto the Great Lawn to enjoy a plein air performance by local BxIndie musicians, through the Bronx Council on the Arts. Bring your own folding chair and enjoy the concert from the comfort of your own favorite seat. The Shop at Wave Hill and Food Service open until 8pm. Venue Description: See natural beauty at its finest at Wave Hill, the 28-acre public garden and cultural center in the Bronx. Overlooking the Hudson River and Palisades, Wave Hill's true view lies in the park's magnificent gardens and landscapes. Horticulture and the arts programs for children, teenagers, and teachers are hosted by Wave Hill. Its grounds serve as living laboratories for science exploration. A memorable and scenic venue location, the Wave Hill House, built in 1843, is available for meetings, conferences, celebrations, and photo shoots. Wave Hill House was home to many celebrated icons, including Theodore Roosevelt and Mark Twain.
On weekends from 10am-1pm, the whole family can enjoy with a naturally creative Family Art Project. Wave Hill's visual arts program presents artworks in the galleries and on the grounds that engage the public in a dialogue with nature, culture, and site.
Wave Hill is located at W. 249th Street and Independence Avenue in the Bronx. Open Tuesday-Sunday, March 15-October 31, 9am-5:30pm; November 1-March 14, 9am-4:30pm. Free tree tours, garden tours, and gallery tours. Admission is free Saturdays year-round from 9am-12pm; all day Tuesdays in November-April, July, and August; and from 9am-12pm in May, June, September, and October. Onsite parking is $8 per vehicle.
