On Sunday, June 10, to help honor National CPR and AED Awareness Week HealthSav will conduct SEVEN FREE 1 hour CPR courses at its facility in New City New York. The course will feature the latest AHA guidelines for Adult CPR called "hands oonly" CPR and all students will get hands on practice time along with full instruction about CPR. Each course will run about 1 hour but seating is limited for each class so pre registration is required. This is an opportunity to learn how to save lives at one of the Northeast's premier American Heart Association Training Centers.

Each year about 385,000 die out of the hospital from Sudden Cardiac Arrest. Most often confust this with heart attacks but the course will teach you how they are not even related. Most heart attacks do not kill the person having one. A person suffering from Sudden Cardiac Arrest will be brain dea in about 4 minutes unless a bystander immediately starts CPR. The course will teach you how to recognize when CPR would be necessary and how to do it. Survival in the United States from Sudden Cardiac Arrest is below 11% nationally. But we look at communities like Seattle Washington where their survival rate is over 50%. The reason for this is 30 years of mandatory education in the schools which is not present in NYS, New Jersey, Connecticutt or most in the country. Learn how basic education in ths schools can save thousands of lives each year. A lot will be packed into this 1 hour course and you will leave empowered with a skill that could save someone close to you.

The "hands only" protocol being taught at these courses will not get a person "certified" in CPR but at the website you will see all courses offered by HealthSav that can broaden one's CPR skills to become certified.
