Description: Angelina Mouseling returns to the stage in this holiday musical based on the characters created by author Katharine Holabird and illustrated by Helen Craig.
Venue Description: Founded in 1999, Vital Children's Theatre is comprised of artists interested in reaching out to and into the community to prompt questions, make discoveries, and engage in important dialogue. To date, the theater has presented 38 children's productions, many of them new musicals. In past years, Vital has produced seasonal shows like The Klezmer Nutcracker and The Snowmaiden in winter, and throughout the year shows like The Bully, which teach children important life lessons through wit and humor. During spring and summer, Vital offers Junior Performance Camps where children ages 4-6 can learn songs, choreography, and theater games. Ending each camp season is a student performance of musical numbers practiced throughout the weeks. Vital's Main Stage has presented 34 productions, 12 installments of Vital Signs New Works Festival, as well as cabaret and sketch comedy. Twenty-three Vital Signs premiers have gone to publication. The Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation commissioned Vital to create and produce America Is My Home: The Immigrant Journey to America, which ran on Ellis Island for several months and wowed over 28,000 audience members. Giving back to the community is an essential piece of the Vital mission and in an effort to do so, more than 68,000 NYC students have experienced Vital Voices, Vital's arts-in-education program.
